First grade flowers of peace.

Picasso's Flowers of Peace, 1958 inspired artists in grade one. We painted "primary color" flowers using the brush to stamp petals and used secondary colors to create stems, leaves and the hands exchanging the flowers. 

Kindergarten forsythia branches with "inch by inch" worms.

Kindergarten artists created branches using uneven, diagonal lines and added tissue paper flowers. We read Inch by Inch by Lio Lionni which inspired them to add their own little inchworm. One of my favorites so far!
