Mrs. Bahr's Kindergarten class paints Dr. Suess inspired Birds!

We read A Great Day for UP! by Dr. Suess and I love the page with the birds on the wire. It shows perspective, and how birds can be created by simple shapes and lines connected to create their bodies, wings and beaks.

Photos are from Day 2: Students outlined their drawings with black oil pastel and painted their birds.

Mrs. Pirnat's and Mrs. Tufano's Second Grade Picassos.

Students discovered how lines and shapes create different types of works of art such as Picasso's portraits, still lifes and landscapes. They created abstract art that had hidden pieces of artwork within it. These are works-in-progress. They will be emphasizing balance and color scheme. Check back soon :)

Ms. Siano's class created Peacocks.

We created peacocks inspired by Eric Carle's book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You Hear? Students painted, cut and glued ovals and added details. They came out beautiful. We might added a little sparkle in our next class.
