We read A Great Day for UP! by Dr. Suess and I love the page with the birds on the wire. It shows perspective, and how birds can be created by simple shapes and lines connected to create their bodies, wings and beaks.
Various Steps are displayed. Students painted clouds for their background and cut the painted birds out. They glued a "wire" to their background and placed their "bird on the wire." Students drew birds in the sky that were very tiny, showing perspective. I love their artwork. Kindergarten LOVES to paint!
